Leaving the gate, you can cycle along the road that leads directly to the famous Baia dei Turchi. Few minutes drive and you are in Otranto’s historic center, ranked among top hamlets in Italy for several year where you can dine, shop or just walk and get gelato. 

The villa consists of two bedrooms with private bathroom and a large living room with large windows with access to the large garden and to the veranda equipped with barbecue area, deck chairs and outdoor lounge. The entire accommodation is equipped with Wi-Fi connection and air conditioning.

If that date has already passed, then payment must be fully settled within 1 days of confirmation of intention to book for properties with “Booking Request” option or at time of booking for properties with “Instant Booking” option.

• PAYMENT METHODS:

Credit Cards, Checks, Wire Transfers.

• RULES:

The total number of occupants will not exceed the quoted number unless agreed in writing prior to departure.

• INDEMNITY & LIABILITY:

The “Client” is responsible for their own travel/health insurance. The “Tour Operator” shall not be held responsible in any way for accidental injury, death or damage/loss to personal effects of the “Client”. If, due to circumstances beyond the “Tour Operator” control, such as flood, fire, hurricane or other damage, and as a consequence unable to honor this agreement, the deposit and advanced payments shall be fully refunded provided said damage was not the fault of the “client”. The “client” is responsible for all damages excluding wear and tear, and including those which exceed the deposit amount.

• CANCELLATIONS:

The cancellation penalties are as follows: 

• 50% of paid prepayments refundable when canceled 60 days before arrival or earlier.

• Cancellations received 59 days or less prior to check-in are Non-Refundable

We strongly urge you to take Trip Cancellation Insurance.

• SECURITY DEPOSIT:

If required, a security deposit must be paid upon check-in directly to the owner, as a guarantee for possible damages and/or extra charges which are not included in the rental price. Should the damage exceed this amount, “BeeYond Travel” has the right to ask for the full amount of damage to be paid in full. If this amount will be paid by credit card, an additional 3% credit card commission fee will be added to the damage amount. This deposit will be refunded at check out by the Owner upon satisfactory inspection of the villa.

ELECTRIC CONSUMPTION:

Electricity consumption is generally included in the rental cost. This information is detailed in the property description. Alternatively, some properties have a certain allowance of electricity included in the rental. Where a property has an electricity allowance included (e.g. 400kw per week), any excess above this consumption level will be calculated and the additional amount will be charged on the credit card on file + 3% credit card fees (e.g. consumption of 453kw = 453 – 400= 53 x $ 0.5 = $ 26.5 + 0.80 = $ 27.30). Should a charge apply for electricity this will be taken only for the extra consumption after the allowable amount of electricity has been exceeded (see example above). A meter reading will be taken at check-in and check-out to verify the usage of those properties with electricity allowance.

• MAINTENANCE:

The Owner or his representative reserves the right to enter the property for essential maintenance works (garden, swimming pool, etc.).

• BEHAVIOR:

The “client” is responsible for his/her behavior while occupying the property. Should the “client” fail to behave in a civilized manner, the owner or his representative has the right to ask the “client” to leave immediately. The “client” will be financially responsible for all damages caused while on the property. Should the “client” be asked to leave, the “client” will lose any right to a reimbursement. Any damage amount will be deducted from the security deposit. If the amount of damage(s) is higher than the security deposit, “client” must pay the difference.

• BUILDING WORK:

Even though you are on holiday, the locals are not and on rare occasions building work might commence without any prior warning near to a property. Whilst we have no control over this, if advised, we will endeavor to intervene to halt it. Naturally, if we are made aware of any nearby building work we would always try to advise you in advance of your holiday.

• COMPLAINTS:

The description of the properties listed on the website are accurate and are made in good faith, “BeeYond Travel” makes every effort to minimize any description errors but cannot be held responsible in any way for omissions, changes “BeeYond Travel” is not aware of. If the client has a complaint about the property/service, he/she should inform “BeeYond Travel” immediately at +1-646-205-3079 or +39-0832-1827366 and confirm in writing at info@beeyondtravel.com detailing the problem within 24 hours. Complaints will not be considered unless this procedure is observed. The “Tour Operator”, and/or the Owner reserve the right to inspect the property or the whereabouts of the service provided to verify the complaint. All reasonable attempts to rectify the problem will be made by “BeeYond Travel”, or the Owner. If it is deemed by “BeeYond Travel” that the property/service falls short of that advertised, “BeeYond Travel” reserves the right to offer the client a similar property/service of similar value. This will be governed by the availability calendar. If the price of an alternative accommodation/service is lower than the price of the booked villa/service, “BeeYond Travel” will refund the client the difference between the initial price and the rate of the alternative accommodation. Should the “Client” accept this exchange, no additional compensation can be requested by the “Client”. If no alternative property/service is available, “BeeYond Travel” will refund the remaining rental/service amount for the remaining days not taken or for the service not consumed. Under no circumstances will “BeeYond Travel” pay hotel or other accommodation costs. If a “Client” leaves a property or does not start the service without giving “BeeYond Travel”, the possibility of verifying the reason for the complaint, the “Client” will not have the right to claim any compensation, for loss, or injury to personal feelings after the checkout. The “Client” who chose to leave the property or to not start a service before the established end date due to personal reasons, and not due to a particular condition of the villa, will not receive any reimbursement or compensation. “BeeYond Travel” will not consider a “Client” complaint one that is out of the control of “BeeYond Travel” such as but not limited to adverse weather conditions, earthquakes, possible distinctive smell caused by organic fertilizer, stings or presence of insects. “BeeYond Travel” cannot be held responsible for any shortcomings or interruptions to the water, Internet, WiFi, gas or electricity supply, nor for damage to the pool filtration pump and for all events out of “BeeYond Travel” or the owner’s control. All reasonable attempts will be made to recover these services.

ARRIVALS & DEPARTURES:

Check-in time is normally between 16.00 and 20.00. Check-ins after standard hours are possible but will be subject a late check-in fee as follow:

$80.00 for check-ins made from 8:00pm to 10:00pm

€150.00 for check-ins after 10:00 pm

The above-mentioned fees exclude any pre-scheduled flight arrival times and agreements to be communicated in writing at the time of booking. Upon arrival, the “client” must show the booking confirmation which will have details of all the members of the party. If there is any substitution of persons during the stay, this should be agreed in advance and in writing by “BeeYond Travel”, otherwise, the whole party will be asked to leave due to strict regulations mandated by the local Authorities. In which case the client will not be entitled to any reimbursement or compensation. The clients must depart before 10.00am, after returning the house keys and allowing the owner or his representative to inspect the condition of the property.

• CLEANING:

Cleaning fees vary from property to property. Upon arrival, the client will find the property in a clean and tidy condition. Any cleaning fees are clearly listed at the time of booking. Cleaning of the cooking facilities, crockery, cutlery, kitchen corner/kitchen/kitchenette and the removal of rubbish is “client” responsibility and it is not included in the final cleaning. If “client” neglects the cleaning, we are obliged to charge you an additional amount to compensate the owner for his additional costs.

• PETS POLICY:

The majority of our villas will allow small pets up to 25 pounds (11.5 Kilos). The small pets policy requires a small fee of $140.00 selectable at time of booking to cover professional clean-up upon check out. If the property booked, features a pool, the pets fee will be increased to $420. If you do not see the “Pets Cleaning” available at the time of booking we ask that you check with us before making a booking.

Paradise on earth and stunning sea views

Description

The “pajara”, typical construction in the Salento area is located in the characteristic Salento landscape. Once used as a temporary or daily shelter by farmers who, with many sacrifices, have snatched from the stingy land the necessary to survive together with their families; therefore these constructions are the most sacred testimonies of the peasant civilization.

Totally restructured, Villa Myrtos is surrounded by a luxuriant vegetation typical of the “Mediterranean scrub”, with intense colors and heady scents.

The myrtle and its incredible scent is everywhere followed by the laurel, the carob tree, the olive trees … the sea frames everything. Invasive, imposing.

You can smell it. Spectacular is the variation of the colors of nature. The pajara is the lookout of this enchanting garden.

While maintaining its original architectural characteristics, it has been given a new life with great effort by craftsmen faithful to the old stone and tuff working techniques.

Renovation has been done respecting its traditions, but embracing new styles, making it fresh, clean, bright, minimal, hospitable. Making it a perfect nest for those who love to experience the sea, nature, air, smells in total harmony with all that “Villa Myrtos” naturally offers. Perfect symbiosis between history and modernity.

For its position, the sea can be reached in 10 minutes on foot along the suggestive “path of the Cipolliane”.

The house

Inside, the house consists of three rooms: living area, bathroom and bedroom. Large, bright rooms.

The living area is the pajara itself: minimal, but equipped with every comfort: stove, dishwasher, large stone sink and a large and functional coutertop. Stone walls grouted in white lime. Candid white ceiling totally covered in wood supported by large beams.

The bathroom: large shower with glass wall. The sink is an old stone vat with an irregular shape, placed on a concrete surface. The large mirror framed by white sticks is a piece of furniture that makes the environment welcoming and relaxing.

The bedroom is the “Trullo”. Structure adjacent to the pajara. The two rooms connected by a passage built by large bricks in blinding white tuff. The Trullo is a typical conical dry stone construction. It too, like pajara, was historically used by farmers as a shelter or warehouse. At the apex of the cone an opening on the sky. A large door leads to the outside.

It will never seem to be either outside or inside. It is the inside that faces the outside, it is the outside that makes space inside. The bed is the only furniture. But it masters the whole space. Huge. Round. Totally in concrete with modern structure and large container compartment. A rope seat suspended in the air. The whole environment smells of lightness. Of romantic. Of peace.

Liveable in a simple and romantic way inside, outside in absolute symbiosis with nature. Wide spaces and sinuous paths intersect as in a dance. The large table at the foot of a centuries-old olive tree. It tastes like home. It feels like a party. It screams romantic. The pool blends in with the surrounding environment.

The pool

It is like a woman lying in the sun. A pond with an irregular perimeter. With soft round lines, as if to blend in with the designs of nature. Salt water, in total respect for the environment. As indeed the whole “Villa Myrtos” was conceived this way. It is the result of a great deal of work aimed at maintaining its original characteristics. Without the addition of any type of vegetation that interferes with that typical of the place. Just a great job of cleaning up the undergrowth by making a luxuriant, wild vegetation “breathe”. Breathing a place that has its originality of magic.

Its position is magical. Magical are the colors, its scent. This whole “nest” is magical with all its heavy history on its roofs. It has its uncertain rocks. It has its “live” paths that like snakes insinuate themselves among the vegetation. Magic is also the sea, the sea around. The sea everywhere!

Naturally, if we are made aware of any nearby building work we would always try to advise you in advance of your holiday.

• COMPLAINTS:

The description of the properties listed on the website are accurate and are made in good faith, “BeeYond Travel” makes every effort to minimize any description errors but cannot be held responsible in any way for omissions, changes “BeeYond Travel” is not aware of. If the client has a complaint about the property/service, he/she should inform “BeeYond Travel” immediately at +1-646-205-3079 or +39-0832-1827366 and confirm in writing at info@beeyondtravel.com detailing the problem within 24 hours. Complaints will not be considered unless this procedure is observed. The “Tour Operator”, and/or the Owner reserve the right to inspect the property or the whereabouts of the service provided to verify the complaint. All reasonable attempts to rectify the problem will be made by “BeeYond Travel”, or the Owner. If it is deemed by “BeeYond Travel” that the property/service falls short of that advertised, “BeeYond Travel” reserves the right to offer the client a similar property/service of similar value. This will be governed by the availability calendar. If the price of an alternative accommodation/service is lower than the price of the booked villa/service, “BeeYond Travel” will refund the client the difference between the initial price and the rate of the alternative accommodation. Should the “Client” accept this exchange, no additional compensation can be requested by the “Client”. If no alternative property/service is available, “BeeYond Travel” will refund the remaining rental/service amount for the remaining days not taken or for the service not consumed. The “Client” who chose to leave the property or to not start a service before the established end date due to personal reasons, and not due to a particular condition of the villa, will not receive any reimbursement or compensation. “BeeYond Travel” will not consider a “Client” complaint one that is out of the control of “BeeYond Travel” such as but not limited to adverse weather conditions, earthquakes, possible distinctive smell caused by organic fertilizer, stings or presence of insects. “BeeYond Travel” cannot be held responsible for any shortcomings or interruptions to the water, Internet, WiFi, gas or electricity supply, nor for damage to the pool filtration pump and for all events out of “BeeYond Travel” or the owner’s control. All reasonable attempts will be made to recover these services. 

 

Cancellation Policy

The cancellation penalties are as follows: • 50% of paid prepayments refundable when canceled 60 days before arrival or earlier. • Cancellations received 59 days or less prior to check-in are Non-Refundable We strongly urge you to take Trip Cancellation Insurance.

 

ARRIVALS & DEPARTURES:

Check-in time is normally between 17.00 and 20.00. Check-ins after standard hours are possible but will be subject a late check-in fee as follow:

$80.00 for check-ins made from 8:00pm to 10:00pm

€150.00 for check-ins after 10:00 pm

The above-mentioned fees exclude any pre-scheduled flight arrival times and agreements to be communicated in writing at the time of booking. Upon arrival, the “client” must show the booking confirmation which will have details of all the members of the party. If there is any substitution of persons during the stay, this should be agreed in advance and in writing by “BeeYond Travel”, otherwise, the whole party will be asked to leave due to strict regulations mandated by the local Authorities. In which case the client will not be entitled to any reimbursement or compensation. The clients must depart before 10.00am, after returning the house keys and allowing the owner or his representative to inspect the condition of the property.

• CLEANING:

Cleaning fees vary from property to property. Upon arrival, the client will find the property in a clean and tidy condition. Any cleaning fees are clearly listed at the time of booking. Cleaning of the cooking facilities, crockery, cutlery, kitchen corner/kitchen/kitchenette and the removal of rubbish is “client” responsibility and it is not included in the final cleaning. If “client” neglects the cleaning, we are obliged to charge you an additional amount to compensate the owner for his additional costs.

• PETS POLICY:

The majority of our villas will allow small pets up to 25 pounds (11.5 Kilos). The small pets policy requires a small fee of $140.00 selectable at time of booking to cover professional clean-up upon check out. If the property booked, features a pool, the pets fee will be increased to $420. If you do not see the “Pets Cleaning” available at the time of booking we ask that you check with us before making a booking.

It is accessed through a large corten glass sliding door. The guest will appreciate the cleanliness lines of an ancient and complex architecture of the living area. The rustic style that mixes with the more modern in search for details, such as the furnishings, fixtures, light points and all comforts. The characteristic star vaults meticulously restored by the expert hands of workers faithful to the ancient techniques respectful of the original characteristics. With a meticulous work they have brought out the tuffs and the joints mixed with the earth. The large living room is the heart of the villa which combines style with elegance with an island, a particular configuration for a solution of an interesting and functional space. Oversized iron dining table in oak wood. An accurate entirely handcrafted work.

Four bedrooms, delightful and welcoming mini suites with private bathrooms of refined taste. All rooms are individually air-conditioned and heated with state-of-the-art facilities. The garden winds around the villa and welcomes the original essences such as laurels, carob trees, olive trees, figs, almond trees. Imposing dry stone walls surround the estate.

The large swimming pool featuring salt water, in a perfect position, bordered on one side by bamboo plantations and on the other by typical plantations, is the perfect place to relax, thanks to its large solarium equipped with sun loungers and chairs. Barbecue area with stone seats and large cushions is meant to bring everyone around the long community table. Abundant aromatic herbs such as thyme, rosemary, sage, oregano, wild fennel and lavender fill the air.

• RULES:

The total number of occupants will not exceed the quoted number unless agreed in writing prior to departure.

• INDEMNITY & LIABILITY:

The “Client” is responsible for their own travel/health insurance. The “Tour Operator” shall not be held responsible in any way for accidental injury, death or damage/loss to personal effects of the “Client”. If, due to circumstances beyond the “Tour Operator” control, such as flood, fire, hurricane or other damage, and as a consequence unable to honor this agreement, the deposit and advanced payments shall be fully refunded provided said damage was not the fault of the “client”. The “client” is responsible for all damages excluding wear and tear, and including those which exceed the deposit amount.

• CANCELLATIONS:

The cancellation penalties are as follows:

• SECURITY DEPOSIT:

If required, a security deposit must be paid upon check-in directly to the owner, as a guarantee for possible damages and/or extra charges which are not included in the rental price. Should the damage exceed this amount, “BeeYond Travel” has the right to ask for the full amount of damage to be paid in full. If this amount will be paid by credit card, an additional 3% credit card commission fee will be added to the damage amount. This deposit will be refunded at check out by the Owner upon satisfactory inspection of the villa.

ELECTRIC CONSUMPTION:

Electricity consumption is generally included in the rental cost. This information is detailed in the property description. Alternatively, some properties have a certain allowance of electricity included in the rental. Where a property has an electricity allowance included (e.g. 400kw per week), any excess above this consumption level will be calculated and the additional amount will be charged on the credit card on file + 3% credit card fees (e.g. consumption of 453kw = 453 – 400= 53 x $ 0.5 = $ 26.5 + 0.80 = $ 27.30). Should a charge apply for electricity this will be taken only for the extra consumption after the allowable amount of electricity has been exceeded (see example above). A meter reading will be taken at check-in and check-out to verify the usage of those properties with electricity allowance.

• MAINTENANCE:

The Owner or his representative reserves the right to enter the property for essential maintenance works (garden, swimming pool, etc.).

• BEHAVIOR:

The “client” is responsible for his/her behavior while occupying the property. Should the “client” fail to behave in a civilized manner, the owner or his representative has the right to ask the “client” to leave immediately. The “client” will be financially responsible for all damages caused while on the property. Should the “client” be asked to leave, the “client” will lose any right to a reimbursement. Any damage amount will be deducted from the security deposit. If the amount of damage(s) is higher than the security deposit, “client” must pay the difference.
