Residenza De Pietro
In Cursi, a delightful location in the heart of Salento, you can breathe clean, relaxing air.
The city was built during the Roman era, so that its name according to some derives from the centurion Marco Curzio, who, after the Roman conquest, was assigned the territory on which then rose Curtium, the future Cursi. According to another hypothesis, it always arose in Roman times as a station of "couriers" (called by the Roman diarii cursores, from which Cursi derived).
Of particular interest is the Parish Church, dedicated to the cult of San Nicola and the Madonna dell'Abbonanza, a simple construction dating back to the eighteenth century, of modest architecture, was then completed and altered during the nineteenth century with a new neoclassical façade.
In the area there are also numerous menhirs that testify, as the area of ursi was inhabited since the origins of humanity, well before the Roman era in which the town was built.
Immersed in this Salento countryside is The Residenza De Pietro rich in history and past, an elegant historic residence.
